The world tells us to find our identity in our education, our talents, our significant other, our sexuality, our vocation, our reputation, and in a million other variables. The fact is, this "chase" for our identity only leaves us broken. Nothing satisfies.

Cecelia Saint writes and describes honestly the brokenness that comes if we choose to love the world. It portrays with honesty the struggle.

Though this album is at times "gritty," great hope is found in "All the Light We Cannot See," which reminds the listener of the Gospel of Jesus amidst all our brokenness. Calling out in the darkest night, and cutting through all the voices that wanna tell us "who we are" is the voice of our Creator, Jesus. Jesus reminds us that we have been "lifted above" the world's temptations and struggles in sexuality, impurity, infidelity, striving, and the like.

Romans 8:13-17 contrasts our old identity with our new nature for those who are saved, and Christ's children; "For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ."

It is our prayer that this work would cause those who carry "broken hearts," in whatever fashion, to run to Jesus for the peace, joy, and committed love and fulfillment that can't be found anywhere else.
